What is the minimum length of stay?

There is a 2-night minimum, with a 3-night minimum on long weekends. Rates vary depending on the number of nights: the longer the stay, the lower the nightly rate.

Is a weekly stay Sunday through Saturday?

No. Our weekly rate can apply to any 7 days, based on availability and whatever your schedule permits. In fall and spring, stays can be any two days or longer.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 4 PM and check-out is 10 AM. Early arrival or late departure depends on occupancy and staffing levels. If available, you'll be notified by email a few days before your arrival, with the option to book either or both. We'll do our best to accommodate you, but please be aware that in summer this is rare due to high occupancy.

What is the deposit, and when do I pay the rest?

A deposit of 50% of your stay is due at the time of reservation. The balance is due 45 days prior to your arrival date. After you make a reservation, you'll be emailed an access code to your reservation, where you can complete your final payment at any time before the 45-day deadline. If you require different arrangements, please contact us; we're more than happy to discuss.

What is the cancellation policy?

More than 30 days before your arrival date, all funds paid will be returned less a small cancellation fee. At 30 days or less before arrival, your entire deposit will be forfeited. If we are able to re-book your cottage for the dates you had reserved, we will refund your entire amount less a $25 transfer fee.

Is there a damage deposit or cleaning fee?

Yes. A few days before your arrival, a hold will be placed on the credit card on file to offset any incidental charges, damage, or undue cleaning costs. These funds are released after checkout verification. If you'd like assistance or prefer an alternative method of securing this deposit, please contact us. Upon arrival, all shelves are labelled with the dishes, towels, and other items and their quantities. Please check these when you arrive. Cleaning fees are non-refundable.

Are linens provided?

Yes. All linens, dishcloths, and towels are provided, and we even include beach towels and robes for your use. Please note that we do not provide daily housekeeping or linen changes during your stay. For stays of a week or longer, a mid-stay change can be arranged.

Is there a washer and dryer?

Yes. We have a washer and dryer for guests to use at no charge, plus an iron and ironing board. For the comfort and safety of all guests, we do not provide laundry detergent, as many visitors have individual preferences or sensitivities to certain products. We encourage guests to bring their preferred detergent for use in our on-site laundry facility.

Is there clothing storage?

Yes. Bedrooms come with under-bed storage for your clothing, and some bedrooms also have clothing racks with hangers supplied.

Can we bring more people than the unit sleeps according to the description?

Accepted Answer

No. We are limited to the stated cottage occupancy. Our facilities are designed to accommodate the maximum number of people listed per unit, and in accordance with local Fire and Safety rules we do not permit "extras." If extra people are found, you may be asked to vacate the premises immediately with no refund and be charged $75 per person, per night. Regardless of age, every person counts as one.

Are tents or similar permitted?

No. To ensure all our guests enjoy the facilities, occupancy levels are dictated by the sleeping arrangements of each unit.

Are weddings and parties permitted?

No. Unless previously arranged with management, parties and similar events are not permitted.

Can we have day visitors?

Watermark Cottages is in a secluded environment with limited parking. To ensure all guests enjoy themselves, daytime guests are permitted with prior approval from management.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we welcome your well-behaved pets. We ask that you notify us in advance and clean up after them. Please bring your own pet towels, as we do not permit cottage towels to be used for pets. Much of our linen is white, so please keep pets off the beds. If you forget your dog towels, let us know and we can find some clean, out-of-circulation towels for you to use.

Is there a fee for dockage?

Is there a launch facility? We do not charge for dockage at our slips for any registered guest during your stay. Advance notice is required, and a slip will be reserved for you. We do not have launch facilities at our location, but there is one very close by. Please ask us and we'll provide all the information you need, plus a copy of a marine chart to guide you back to our marina. You can also look for our video on YouTube that shows the actual journey on the water from the local marina to our docks.
